Nursery rhymes anyone? /// 6:40 PM
Birthdays aplenty!
I wore my panty.
(okay that was just a lousy rhyme)
Let me try again.
Birthdays aplenty
Not a single penny
Wish i had more money
To fill my pockets now empty.
haha
Week 3 has been wonderful with frequent trips to vivo for dinner, supporting eileen in her sde bash (thus missing out on sean's surprise birthday party), having supper, and not to forget, study sessions. This coming week seems packed with activities and most probably, a birthday celebration tmr for xinyi, xinru and xinlei too! Hope i'll stay committed to being a mugger self! :)

Birthday Cake of the Year /// 10:25 PM
Happy birthday to Eugene!
The person who sat on my right when we were young and childish in secondary one. Many memories shared there! Had a great time celebrating his birthday at NYNY, Jurong Point yesterday. The highlight of the whole event, besides the birthday boy, is the most amazing cake we made for him!
Making of De Cake

Baker Joy, getting all serious

Baker Cheryl, down to business

Baker Ceci, having lots of fun

Tadaaaaa!!!

Presenting Eugene's 21st gorgeous birthday cake

Proudly? brought to you by the 3 bakers
The guys had quite a laugh over the cake and it was quite hilarious esp when the waitress in NYNY walked over to the 9 of us seated at the table with an eye-catching cake, smaller than the size of her hand. Even the baker boy at the shop, where we handcrafted our cake, chuckled upon laying eyes on our handiwork (according to cheryl). Well, it was a sight to behold.
Missed out on another birthday celebration which was held on the same night too. Parents seem to like January, no?
Went to Science Centre's Body Worlds exhibition after church today and i'd say it's real fascinating. The intricate details from the many displays of each organ in our body to the whole-body plastinates and human specimens open my eyes and allow me to have a deeper appreciation of the human body. However, ultimately, it's the Creator whom I am in awe of. Dear Lord, You rock!
-Thank You, Lord, for the 100 billion neurons in our brains. -
Do you know that /// 1:31 PM
I'm staying home today to

On my way to being a hip mugger!

(i look constipated though)
-Thank You, Lord, for prayer sessions. -
Fun, laughter, peace and joy /// 1:22 AM
A preview to Eileen's Partay!

The weekend was a Blast with a capital B.Friday comprised of lunch with angie, an afternoon of decorating eileen's 21st present, checking in at Pasir Ris Coasta Sands, late dinner at Changi Village, ktv-ing till 2 plus and chatting into the wee hours of the morning.
The morning of Sat saw us having our breakfast in a Hong Kong cafe and after we sent chia ling off for work, spent an entire noon beautifying both rooms of the chalet. It was pretty tiring and the opportunity cost of visiting escape themepark flew past us. Nonetheless, we had a marvelous time. The night soon arrived in a blink of an eye. Time for BBQ! Findings: Her mum, aunt and boyfriend can really cook! It was no wonder why we pigged out on those mouth-watering food ravenously. After a while, i walked a good O 15 mins to "hailiang's Imba 21st" (as printed on his banner) at downtown east even when the food hadnt even settled down in my stomach and after meeting ciyuan and wanting outside the entrance, we joined the rest of our pri sch class for buffet and the usual mining game. After that, it was pretty much of running back to eileen's party to witness the cutting of cake and singing of birthday songs and many photos later, back to hailiang's cutting of his icecream cake. Made it just in time and i was like "WAIT!!!" before the camera clicked. hilarious. Ciyuan, wanting, hoyin and I cabbed home before the party ended but we still did not manage to avoid the midnight charges. Were going crazy at the backseats of the cab, like the old times in school. One of the greatest nights ever!
Sunday, woke up early to do more practising for church. Church was as usual, lovely, with worship session led by joanna and jean. We started on the "essential truths of the christian faith" and it was kinda dry cuz of the chimology terms used. Met up with marcus to buy Sirong's present and did a little bit of shopping. Did not join Sirong, Glenn, Mr Tan and his wife for sirong's birthday dinner in the end. Watched "The Spy Next Door" (not that fantastic as one might have thought if he or she sat near the row of ladies behind me who were laughing their heads off, literally), with jeremy lau coincidentally sitting 3 rows behind me.
Note to self: Have to pray for Pastor Pan for wisdom when he teaches, to maximise understanding among the youth.
And my eyebags continue to grow darker...
Day 3 /// 8:43 PM
Let the pictures spin their yarn.

Super spacious!

Joel and I reserved the beds before marcus did

Looked rather weird here

1st and 2nd day at Pattaya /// 3:36 PM
Let me give Bangkok some credits for bringing much entertainment to my holidays.
Left Little Red Dot on the morning of the 28th and with Marcus' family, we met their pastor's family (without the wife) and then boarded the plane, which took us over the beautiful blue waters, over the mountains of indonesia, among the fluffy white clouds and to the Land of Smiles (or so as they call themselves).
First day
Upon arrival at the airport, a driver from our hotel in Pattaya fetched us to our destination in a mini van with insufficient aircondition. Along the 2hr++ ride, had a short break where we had our lunch in Bangkok. First taste of thai food! Alas, when we reached the hotel, i flung open the door of the room and spent some time oohing and ahhing over how cosy the room looked. Marcus and Joel (my roomies) were like rolling their eyes and could not share the same feeling of exhilaration that i got, sadly. Would have been more glad if i had someone of the same gender as my roomie. Nonetheless, got a feeling there and then that the trip would be an unforgettable one:)
(singaporean way of reserving beds by joel. I had the bed next to his, after pleading with marcus to be nice and poor him had the extra bed which wasnt too bad cuz it was in front of the telly)

Headed to Big C for my first shopping experience in Bangkok(well not exactly first cuz it's my 2nd trip to Bangkok but that was a thousand years ago) in Thai's famous Tuk Tuk. The shops werent too delightful though. Something that pleased me still was that in one of the shops, i bought a dress($16) and the previous day, i saw the exact same one in Spore selling for $30++. So that was my first satisfied purchase of the trip. After that we walked around for an hour and a few cash registers in the mall managed to collect some more baht from me. Steamboat dinner @ their famous MK restaurant (which has the same initials as marcus' dad and that of course created some hilarious inside jokes).
Watched Pattaya's famous ladyboy cabaret show and it opened both eyes of mine. The girls/boys look so pretty and some even sound like the actual singers such as lady gaga. One word - WOW. As the ingenious show ended, and we continued to jalan jalan, realised that there was a huge population of ang mohs with thai girls. A sleazy place i would say, with pole-dancing out in the open and one-night stands are commonplace.
Second Day
The morning saw a couple exploring the hotel. Took some photos in the not-so-splendid pool area and there was even a sauna + jacuzzi. Scenery overlooks the streets of Bangkok. After waking lazy joel up, we headed for breakfast buffet and the guys were always commenting that i eat so little. Since when is 2 plates of sausages and eggs, 1 plate of thai noodles and 1 bowl of cereal with milk little?? Well, so be it. At least i need not store as much undigested waste in my large intestine as compared to them.
Today was sports day. So off we went to our first destination of the day. To my amazement, marcus' dad had planned for us to have a thrill at the Go-Kart! Well the photo (below) features the more professional track. We took a low-key one which allows our kart to go to a maximum speed of 40km/h. It was a wild game of chase and overtaking but fastest of us was Hao ping. :)

(credit to joel's muscular arm in the foreground)
After all the hair-flying and inhaling of air pollutants, we set off for the beaches. Ate the fried crabs, wings, sotongs etc all the FATTY delicacies +coconut drinks. While the rest of us jetski-ed, hao ping tried the dunnowhatyoucallthat erm skyparaglidin-and-pulled-by-a-boat sport. Love the sea, love the wind blowing ferociously into my face, love the taste of salt water at the tip of my tongue, love my hair flying all over marcus as his arms tightened around me as we crashed over the waves and sped farther away from shore.
(dont know why my cam is somehow attracted to joel's muscular arm. though he made some noise bout this photo, i think he secretly likes it. :D)

Ate western food in a marche-kind-of-place in the biggest mall just right behind the beach after washing up. Marcus' dad had to get all of us new undergarments as ours were all soaking wet beneath our shorts and marcus' mum commented that it was his first time having to get a female's undergarments. Everyone was cracking up when they lay eyes on the set of bottoms he got for me. Some polka-dotted ones which were a size too small. Good thing i managed to squeeze into it though. hah.
At 5, had a dinner buffet which comes together in a package with the evening's cultural show just few hours after lunch. Sorry, stomach. :S The cultural show was pretty good as we sat right after the walkway, which performers used as a stage at some point in time. Could feel the heat from the fire on the stick carried by performers but any glimpse of excitement drifted away that few seconds when those towering elephants marched past less than a metre away from where we sat.
the only egg-shaped durian icecream

Guess what Santa gave us for supper?
Mine was the macaroni with chicken bits(above). Sinfully delicious. Strangely, all of us feasted while watching Barbie and the 3 Musketeers. Haha! it was interesting the way Barbie and her fellow mates saved the ball with their special skills. haaa

The night ended as the four of us slept in our beds with bloated tummies.
I shall end here as Mum just woke up. Shall recount more of my little bangkoki trip next time!
