Photos that I snapped from postcards which i bought at a flee market:)
Wrote on one which i've passed to Doris (Jean's mentor) this morning to pass to her. Doris should be on the plane by now!
Well, of course the last one is not from a postcard. If it was, i dont think the owner would be making any sales. Anyway, they're grapes and apples cut by my mum! The sound of each crunch envelops me with love and warmth. I feel so fortunate!:D

Never would i have imagined /// 12:06 PM
Have you ever gotten stuck in an isolated carpark close to midnight, with a dead car battery?
It happened to me, last night.
It was supposed to be perfect- surprising jiayee and skeen with a dinner on a boat with lovely ambience, just like 4 princesses having dinner together. After 4 hours of chatting, phototaking and blowing of candles, the surprise took on a new twist and it led to an unexpected turn of events which brought both shock and excitement.
The battery of the car that brought us there went flat, at the carpark of marina south pier. My carelessness had gotten the better of me and i had forgotten to switch off the bottom lights of the car. Couldnt start the car when we were ready to head home:( As it was already late, there were only few people in sight. Worse still, it was jiahao's car and i didnt want the girls to get home so late.
Skeen and Jiayee immediately went to get help from a casually-dressed man who was just arrived and was about to go to work and a policeman. It turned out that we needed a cable to jumpstart the car but neither the man nor I had any. The heroic policman then came up with an alternative. Like a professional mechanic, he started unscrewing the bolts of both cars (the other belonging to Samaritan-Man-who-agreed-to-help-us-despite-having-to-work) and exchanged the battery cell to charge jiahao's car. Skeen was using her phone as a torch while the rest of us oooohhed and ahhhhed at the brilliant policeman. After a while, he replaced both cells in the original place and then, what happened next, or rather, did not happen cause my heart to drop to my toes. The other car's engine failed to start. Man, it gave me such a fright.
But Policeman-turned-mechanic-overnight did some adjusting of the position of the battery cell and the connecting parts(forgot the terms for those alr) and got the engine alive and going! Quickwitted Ruiqi noted down his car plate number and suggested writing a thank you note to the guy (starting the letter with Dear Lifesaver) and we placed it at the windscreen of his car after he left for work:)
Happy birthday Jiayee!
Thanks for being such a lovely friend who's always there for me during my uni days. You're the one person whom I share many similarities with and I'll really miss you loads when you leave. But the powerpuff girls will definitely visit you in perth, esp for your wedding:) Lets treasure the rest of the sem that we have left alright! Love you dear sister.
- Thank God for helpful samaritans and beautiful girls. -

Valentine's Day Specials /// 10:21 AM
Had dinner in this lovely greek restaurant called Blu Kouzina. They managed to pull off an artificially created country-style ambience very well and for a second, i almost forgot that i was in singapore.
Had this dish called "Greek macaroni with minced beef in some bechamel sauce". Their version of macaroni is an elongated one, the length of a ruler with diameter 0.5cm and the minced beef tasted just like, well minced beef:)
A must-visit for friends who want a different atmosphere for dining!
Will share more about that day another time cuz i'm supposed to be buried deep in my books.
Anyway, it's Jiayee's birthday today and Skeen's birthday next monday! Am in school with cheryl and kelly but tonight, Ruiqi and I are so gonna spring a birthday surprise on both the girls by taking them to a place that'll blow their minds away:)
- Thank You, Lord, for nicest people. -

Humility /// 12:28 AM
On My Knees by Jaci Velasquez
There Are Days When I Feel The Best Of Me Is Ready To Begin. Then There're Days When I Feel I'm Letting Go And Soaring On The Wind. 'Cause I've Learned In Laughter Or In Pain How To Survive.
(Chorus) I Get On My Knees, I Get On My Knees; There I Am Before The Love That Changes Me. See I Don't Know How, But There's Pow'r When I'm On My Knees.
I Can Be In A Crowd Or By Myself, In Almost Anywhere When I Feel There's A Need To Talk With God; He Is Emmanuel. When I Close My Eyes No Darkness There, There's Only Light.
Chorus

Arbitrary /// 10:39 PM
It scares me how much a single comment can affect the impression i have on a person. Though i try not to let it get to me, i guess subconsciously, the information is replaying by itself at the back of my mind:(
Can't forget the conversation we had when Taylor Swift's voice came on the radio:
J: Who do you love more, Taylor Swift or me?
J: Of course it's you
J: Wow, i'm surprised. This is not the answer you'd usually give.
J: Well, you're taking the wheel...
HAHA. Thanks for the white lie.

An incoherent post /// 11:39 PM
1) Was brushing up on my rusty piano skills with Richard Clayderman's pieces an hour ago. Yeah though i've been playing for church every alternate week, christian worship songs are easier than classical pieces and it's been some time since i played as a pastime. For the past few months, have forgotten how relaxing an activity it is, so i'm glad i've gotten in touch with it once again! Learnt how to play a new song, 'The Swan':)
I wish you could appreciate it
2) Headed to vivo after a long day at school which ended at 8, Cheryl and I. Spent an hour plus finding for bracelets and had milk tea from gong cha. Still prefer Essential.
3) It's Mabel's birthday yesterday.
Happy birthday strawberry cupcake! I miss having burping competitions with you like how we always do in secondary school! Hope you've safely reached Australia and i will see you in June:)
4) As much as I want to be diligent and obtain good grades, my current studying habits do not reflect these goals. This semester is somewhat different, different in the sense that the drive to study is just like a kiss that disappears with the wind once distractions drop by my way. I dont want any cloud on the horizon so please buck up!
5) I learnt a new word. Borborygmi. Unfortunately, I always experience this in the middle of tests. Brings back hilarious memories.
6) Your strange absence

Ciyuan came over last night and together with wanting, we celebrated her 22nd birthday. Got her a stressball with messages from the both of us and a cookbook to prepare her for SEP at none-other-than-Italy! Should I join her for road trip this July/ philippines with wanting /bangkok this holiday???
Cant help but to upload this:)
Pull your cheeks /// 9:21 PM
I'm learning quite a lot about babies this semester.
Some tips to all ambitious Mum-Wannabes:
The first year is the best time to do motherese (infants talk) because, to put it in a simpler manner, it's a period where babies start to integrate all the sounds (prosody, phonotactic, probabilistic patterns, coarticulatory cues) that Cute He/She hears and from that, the wonderful intricate human brain works and starts to differentiate one's native language from the others.
So, if you want your child to be multilingual (learn chinese, english, malay and tamil) without loads of difficulty, talk and read to them in both languages frequently before they reach the age of 1!! Of course, that's with the aid of a rich language environment as the child enters toddler and preschool years.
CNY Day 1: my independent cousin will make a fuss if anyone (including her mum) tries to feed her.
- Thank You, Lord, for caring hands that prepared steamboats. -

Get those organs workin' /// 8:59 PM
Had my first experience of a muscle-ached Chinese New Year! I could feel a slight pull in my right arm and my back, cuz i played tennis........on wii yesterday.
For the past and the next few days, my house is and will be like a hotel; coming home only to bathe and sleep and waking up early next morning to embrace the visitations for the day. Had church early yesterday morning, followed by visitation to nanny's house, and 4 other houses where I had steamboat in two of the houses. The entire of today was spent at my hungry aunt's (er ku, okay lame) house and her asam chicken is as good as ever! Requested to head home slightly earlier so that I can start on my pile of workload, soon to be overdued. I cant see how I'm going to finish all of them by Sunday unless I burn midnight oil every night. There are still visitations and a birthday celebration this weekend. It's all very stressful actually, cant seem to push this nagging feeling of having untouched assignments+little time, at the back of my my mind. It haunts me like a shadow:(
And as usual, this period is the true test of my high metabolism.
You know what I mean.
How now?
- Thank You, Lord, for very^infinity nice aunts and uncles. -
One of my all-time favourite songs! Charlotte Church and Josh Groban also sang this as well but I prefer Rhema's as it shows me how brave a young girl can be.
Verse 1
I pray you'll be our eyes, and watch us where we go. And help us to be wise in times when we don't know Let this be our prayer, when we lose our way Lead us to a place, guide us with your grace To a place where we'll be safe.
