What do you call someone who buys 20 packets of Haribo gummy bears (in addition to the 12 packets bought last week) just cause they are on 25% discount?
Answer: My dearest mummy

Some interesting findings on interpersonal r/s:
1. Reinforcement-affect model states that the extent to which we are generally attracted to a person can be partly due to the +ve emotions elicited by the events associated with the person. Therefore, the reason why we may feel attracted to someone may be because he/she says and does things that make us feel good.
Nevertheless, we can become attracted to someone who is only
incidentally associated with +ve events. Then, inevitably (and amazingly), aversive events which are associated with the individual cause us to feel less attracted. Even sth as fortuitous as hearing really unpleasant music on the radio or meeting a ferocious dog reduces prospects for a second date.
Poor chap/damsel.
2. Interesting evidence reveal that the key to a great relationship is the ratio of pleasant interactions to aversive interactions. According to Gottman (1994), one of the most important element which predicts a successful marriage is when
+ve exchanges outweight the -ve ones by a ratio of 5:1. Hence, even highly temperamental marriages, where arguments are commonplace, can thrive as long as the number of +ve interactions, such as teasing, complimenting and good dates, predominate exceedingly.
Hmmm.
I'm kinda thankful for the distractions 1 assignment, 3 tests and various projects (all due next week) bring.
What'll happen tmr?- Thank You, Lord, for Your abundant grace. -

But i never did manage to send a single one.
Laughter is contagious /// 2:44 AM
Today, no, yesterday in fact, the second digit of Mum's age increased by one.
Happy birthday to a gorgeous Mum!

The evening was amazing and our plan was a huge success.
Caught Mum totally offguard and the look on her face was worth the past few days of being sworn to secrecy. Dinner was as usual, fantastic, with inputs of laughter from the table and witty comments from my very-comical-aunts. Big Aunt (da yi) even suggested using sign language to 'sing' a birthday song to Mum who doesnt want to be embarrassed if we sang it out loud. She went to the extent of demonstrating some hand signs (which she made up on the spot) to the lyrics of the birthday song, evoking various physiological reactions from the rest of us - laughter on a continuum.
Alright, turning in now. My circadian clock is screwed up for the whole of this week, and it's not because i've been burying myself in the books:( No wonder pimples are overly-populated on my face.
Jean: Yay! You finally uploaded some photos onto your blog. Southbank doesnt look like it has undergone any upgrading since the last time i visited!
- Thank You, Lord, for aunts who are as cool as cucumbers. -

"Yesterday, the house of some of the girls from my lifegroup was burglared. But I think the way they dealt with it is just such an amazing testimony. While others would have cursed and swore at the idiot who took away their laptops, money and jewelery, they were joking and giving thanks to God that they have sent in their assignments in the morning and so on. Their attitude towards what had happened totally blown me away.
They even prayed for the burglar and asked that through looking at what's inside their laptops, his heart will be touched by God. Haha. Seriously, amazing girls.
I have often asked myself this question. If God knows everything, why do we still need to pray? During lifegroup discussion last night, Cait shared something which I totally agree. Prayer is acknowledging that we need God. So we pray because we need God in our life! :D"
Thanks for sharing this! It reminds me to give thanks in all circumstances! :)
Anyway, my aunts and I are planning a mini birthday surprise dinner for
娘 who will be blowing her candles this Thursday=D
Shhh
