"Can you trust Me with your future?" /// 10:55 AM
The Lord asked me today.
Just came back from a morning jog and breakfast with Mum and Wanting:)
It was refreshing; afterall exercise is one of the greatest ways to start the day!
Can't wait for the musical tonight!!
Confused /// 11:54 AM
All that she said was undeniably accurate.
There's just too much to take in.
I've got to do some thinking, on my own.
USA came and went. /// 8:57 AM
Woke up at an unearthly hour today - 6.15 a.m. and couldn't get back to sleep no matter how hard I tried. Hence, I woke up with intentions to go for a morning jog but before that, i have to get some housework done first. While waiting for the mechanics of the washing machine to do its thing, i shall sit down, reflect and update my blog.
Firstly, I'm back from Graduation Trip Part I. Headed to certain parts of USA and Canada (i.e. Washington DC, New York, Ontario, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Francisco). It was indeed a fulfilling trip!!
Washington DC is like a gem. When you observe and study it, you'll realise that it has so much information and knowledge to offer. It is a state with history which is translated to the world through museums, factories and splendid structures and architectures. Enjoyed simple pleasures. Caught a glorious sunset while perched on the back of the building which holds the statue of Abraham Lincoln. Shivered in the cold while the locals, clad in their skimpy running outfits, jogged past me. How they managed to withstand the temperature never fails to intrigue me.

While in New York, lived life like a local and instead of visiting all the iconic places, had many opportunities to unwrap many secrets that the locals keep to themselves, and i'm making particular references to their eateries. Fastfood places such as Shake Shack are treasure chests of hidden truths. The burgers tantalised my tastebuds and i had never tried anything so delicious before. If you were to stroll down Times Square at 12 a.m., you would come to a realisation why NY earns the title "City That Never Sleeps". Ginormous signboards hung on colourful towering skyscrapers which stand shoulder to shoulder, looking all proud and enticing. Then when you're right in the middle of Times Square, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere, people will approach you and irritate you with invitations to buy their products. hehe. Caught 4 musicals (Mamma Mia, Nice Work if you can get it, Jersey Boys and for the second time, Wicked for only USD27.50!!!). haha thank God for the man who picked my name out of the lottery bowl. The first Sunday found us settled happily on a picnic mat, collecting the heat on large landscaped Central Park. Such were the warmer days. That day was one of the most unforgettable days. I saw dozens and dozens of families spending precious time together, with the dads playing football with their sons, dads teaching their daughters how to fly kites, toddlers falling asleep on their mummies' lap, teenagers basking under the sun in their bikinis, friends gathering together to share gossips and exchange information. Special moments.
I celebrated my birthday in Ontario, where I made friends with Niagara Falls for 3 days. Witnessed its beauty from both the US' as well as Canada's side. It is so pretty it just left my jaws hanging wide open when i first laid eyes on it. Because of the sun rays shining down on the waterfalls, there was a gorgeous rainbow which hangs in the midst, in its full glory. It resulted in loud exclamations of glee which exploded like fireworks from my vocal tract. Beautiful. Simply beautiful. There was no wonder why millions of people visit it each year.
Los Angeles. I'd remember it for the joys it brings through Sea World, Universal Studios and Disney Land. Visiting Hollywood Boulevard didn't bring much satisfaction though. Didn't get to chase after any celebrities or to take photos with them for that matter. Too commercialised I'd say. While in LA, went for a one-day tour where the tour guide brought us to iconic places like Tom Cruise and Katie Holme's house (which was located safely away from the public eye by use of lush greenery and steep slopes), the hotel where Whitney Houston died (it was the third room from the left, top floor hehe), passed by an area where Lindsay Lohan crashed her car onto a tree while drunk, Marilyn Monroe's tomb, hotel where Pretty Women was featured etc. But the highlight would be the eye-opening experiences I gained while in those famous themeparks mentioned above. In Seaworld, I rekindled my love for dolphins and killer whales. In Universal Studios, I marvelled at the intelligence and creativity that Man has. Also took photos with the Simpsons! In Disneyland, I was teleported back to my childhood days and felt young once again. Out of the 3, i'd say that Universal Studios is a die-die-must-drop-by themepark.
Personally, Las Vegas beats NY to its title. At 12 a.m., I was doubting the hour and minute hands shown on my watch. Flashing lights continue to dot the buildings and people continue to make merry in casinos, which were by the way, EVERYWHERE. And when i make this statement, i'm not exaggerating. Even when you are in a queue, you can pass time by gambling on one of those machines conveniently located next to you. Temptations were just calling out to you all the time. Wanling and I were slightly disturbed and we let our attention travel to the most sane event there - 3 talented boys basking and playing beautiful music on their violins etc. We were so amazed by them that we made ourselves comfortable on the stone seats of the fountain in front of them and set there for a full hour. People-watched too and what we saw kinda confirmed our stereotypical impressions of Las Vegas. Like every state, Vegas also has really pretty sides . For one, it contains one of the most magnificent hotels. Also, headed to Grand Canyon, one of the Wonders of the World. When I saw those colourful boulders/rocks etc, was in awe and took time to give thanks to God for His amazing creation!
Our last destination was San Francisco.
"If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear flowers in your hair.
If you're going to San Franciso, you're gonna meet some people there." - San Francisco by Scott McKenzie
Places which I visited include Palace of Fine Arts, Fisherman's Wharf, Lombert Street (World's Crookedest don't-know-why-it's-spelt-this-way Street), Union Square for shopping, Golden Gate Park, Castro Street where the rainbow flag, signifying freedom, is hung everywhere, Haight street (where the hippies gather), Golden Gate Bridge, Chinatown (where we kept drinking pearl milk tea cuz we took delight in adding our own toppings) and Stanford University.
Will upload photos another time!
Secondly, I received my results and it proves that God's grace is still always sufficient!:D
Thirdly, post-trip days were spent packing the house, getting urgent matters settled and meeting up with beloved friends! Tuesday evening was spent celebrating Angie's birthday with the girls, Wednesday was set aside for Ruiqi and Skeen and we had a whale of time catching up:)
Fourthly, Graduation Trip Part II starts this Saturday morning, where I'll head to BKK with the girls! Looking forward to more eating, shopping and catching up!
Gonna meet Ci Yuan for dinner at Vivo later! Sorry for ending this post so abruptly!
Have a nice hols peeps!
